Archival Consultant

Appalachian College Association, Berea, KY
Process and arrange the Appalachian College Association institutional archives. Create a box and folder guide and a records management plan. Conducted an inventory of archives and special collections at 26 ACA member colleges by visiting the archives during April through June, documenting number and types of collections, and writing individual college inventories and a report for the Andrew Mellon Foundation which supported this project. Submitted report to the Mellon Foundation and sent in-depth inventories and photographs on CD to participating college libraries, museums, and centers. Coordinated two student scholar groups to meet and present research and projects at the annual ACA Summit, October 18-20, 2007, in Abingdon, Virginia. Responsibilities included scheduling presentations within two two-hour sessions, hotel reservations, and corresponding with students and mentors concerning projects, presentations, lodging, etc. Conduct interviews with current ACA President and write institutional guide for future ACA staff.

Process and arrange the Council of the Southern Mountains Records, 1970-1989, consisting of 237 cubic feet of papers with no original arrangement. Use DreamWeaver, create Finding Aid and an online exhibition with visual and text content. Create a large display for public viewing of the collection.
